Hello
When you’re using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to a Windows 11 Pro machine, the username and password you need to use are typically the same as your Windows account login.
However, since you’ve used a Microsoft account during the installation and authenticated via Microsoft Authenticator, you might not have set a traditional password. In this case, you can try the following:
Use your Microsoft Account Credentials: You can use your Microsoft Account email as the username and your Microsoft Account password as the password.
Switch to a Local Account: If you’re still having trouble, you might want to switch to a local account. Here’s how:
Open Settings.
Click on Accounts.
Click the Your info tab.
Click the “Sign in with a local account instead” option.
Click the Next button.
Confirm the new local account credentials, including username, password, and hint password.
When using RDP, it’s recommended to use Network Level Authentication for an extra layer of security. This means you’ll need to authenticate yourself on the network before you can access the remote computer.
