Want to know emails are forwarded.

Question

Email was forwarded from a user mailbox to the mail user created in our organization (forwarding applied to the user mailbox) . I want to know how the actual sender who send the email at the first email to the user mailbox will get notify that his email was forwarded to an external address.

Regarding of your question, it depends on how you set up the email forwarding. If you use Inbox rules to forward messages, the sender will not get any notification that their email was forwarded to an external address. However, if you use OWA to set the ForwardingSmtpAddress parameter on the mailbox, the sender will see the forwarding address in the To or Cc field of their email.
