Recently have issues with an, "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor request failed)." I have look over other post regarding this issue to no avail. The is no options for power or other settings. I have even removed everything except mouse/keyboard even as they look ok in the list. The problem pops up in device manager under, "Universal Serial bus Controller."

Is there a utility I can run to identify the device? TIA

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out.

    1. Install the USB driver.

In order to access the Device Manager, press Windows + X. the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section > Select Properties from the context menu when you right-click on a USB drive that Windows is refusing to recognise. Select Uninstall. After that, download and install the most recent driver version from the brand manufacturer's official website.

    1. Disable fast startup using below from elevated prompt.

    Powercfg -h off

    1. Please ask the manufacturer of your device whether a new driver or firmware update is available.
