How to fix the error of Failed to verify domain name?

I am trying to setup the Azure AD sign-in configuration with Microsoft Azure Active Directory Connect.

The listed entry "test.aviva.local" of Active Directory UPN Suffix showed "Not Added" with Azure AD Domain.

So I tried to add a custom domain name "test.aviva.local" in the Azure AD portal. When I clicked the button "Verify" it showed the error "Failed to verify domain name test.aviva.local".

How to fix this problem?

    Hi Guang,

    You need to verify the domain through DNS Records:

    Managing custom domain names in your Azure Active Directory

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/enterprise-users/domains-manage

    It looks like you first need to verify your root domain (aviva) before you verify test.aviva.

    @Guang Li

    As I understand you are trying to verify a domain "test.aviva.local" in Azure AD and you are getting an error.

    As per Azure AD domain verification, you cannot verify any domain with ".local" at domain suffix. You need to have a domain purchased with .com, .net, .club etc.

    We have mentioned the same in out public article as well,

    You can also refer below article to know more about verifying a domain.
