Currently experiencing an issue within SharePoint 2013 in which users that have previously been deleted, when their username is reused after say 3 months the user details loaded into SharePoint are that of the old user like below.

User's image

So as you can see the users real title is "Section Leader" as shown in the search box when adding them to a permission group, but when they are loaded in it renders as "Temporary Casual Sales Assistant".

This happens to all the users. I've attempted deleting the profile, removing the user from the site root and then using the Ensure method to reinitialize them but it still persists. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi @Alistair Trout,

Thank you for posting in this community.

How did you add that user, through AD or through User Profile Service? The problem seems to be that the user profile is not synchronized.

I suggest you do a full synchronization of user profiles:

    1. On the SharePoint Central Administration website, in the Application Management section, click Manage service applications.
    2. On the Manage Service Applications page, click the link for the User Profile service application.
    3. On the Manage Profile Service page, in the Synchronization section, click Start Profile Synchronization.
    4. On the Start Profile Synchronization page, select Start Full Synchronization to synchronize all profiles.
    5. Click OK.

You can refresh the Manage Profile Service page to view the profile synchronization status.

After the synchronization is complete, please clear your browser cache or use your browser privacy mode to recheck if the problem still exists.
