What happens when you change your tenents name?

I am worried that when I change my tenents name, preexisting links and what not, I have shared become invalid. Should I be worried and are there precautions i can take to hinder unforeseen damage that might occur with a name change?

Hi @frederik venø Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.

The "Name" field within "Tenant Properties" here is a display name only - https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_AAD_IAM/ActiveDirectoryMenuBlade/~/Properties

Changing this would impact what your users see as the company name within Office and Teams etc.. but not any links for OneDrive/SharePoint etc.. as these should be using your tenant default domain name, which is changed through a different process and would cause links etc.. to change.

Thanks for the quick feedback, I was also under the impression that the tenentID was the main buildingblock when redirecting in a URL, but my colleague wasn't quite sure.

My pleasure @frederik venø yes that is correct, the tenant ID and / or the initial tenant domain name would be used in the authentication URLs.
