Hello,

How do we mass enroll windows 11 laptop/desktop.

We are a university environment, and each year we do pc refreshes, and we are having 1000 or more new laptops/desktop coming in, in the next few weeks.

Our laptop/desktop is co-manage using MECM/Intune. We don't use autopilot because of the naming convention that we have at our University.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

@brichardi, Thanks for posting in Q&A.

According to your description, I know you are looking for a way to batch enroll Windows 11 devices. Before going on, I would like to confirm if the devices need to join on-premise domain or just join to Azure AD?

If it needs to join on-premise domain, then the devices need to do Hybrid Azure AD join, the method I can think are GPO enrollment, co-management and Autopilot Hybrid Azure AD join. From your description, I notice Autopilot is not your choice. And it seems you have MECM in your environment. If you want the devices to be managed by both MECM and Intune, then co-management is your choice.

However, if you just want Intune to manage these devices, you can also consider GPO enrollment:

Hope this can be helpful. If there is anything else you need, feel free to contact me.

Never heard naming convention would be a show stopper for Autopilot use. You can generate names with serial numbers. You also can create multiple autopilot profiles to have multiple different naming policy if you need. Consider, that with Autopilot you could remotelly re-install the computer by reseting it and user will continue to process autopilot. With CM OSD you would need to have image layout first and pressing F12 and selecting Task Sequence instead. But, autopilot will not give you Zero Touch for sure, more comparable to Light Touch.
