Close my outlook account

Dear All,

unfortunatley I cannot close my outlook.com account. In the final step I got this message

"You need to leave your work organization

Before we can take any action, you must leave your work organization. After you cancel your active subscriptions, you should return to this page to complete the account closure process.

Go to my work organization"

When I click on "Go to my work organization" I have to verifz my identiy. However the mobile number is not anymore my numbe and I do not have the mobile phone anymore.

I don't see anz option to change this number. However my outlook account itself has my correct new mobile number and it works fine.

How can I remove this old number and close my outlook.com account?

    Not updating your security info ahead of time has caused the disconnect. I wouldn't worry about it too much. A microsoft account closes after 2 years of inactivity.

    Sounds like you may have a work and personal account using the same email address? If so you can follow along here to rename the personal account.

    Use the Get Help app here to chat online with someone by clicking link

    then "Windows", then underneath "home support" click on Get support in the Get Help Windows app
