What do Corporate Device Identifiers do? They don't seem to work.

I'm trying to use Corporate device identifiers. I am using the Serial Number from my phone. I've added the device through Company Portal.

The status of the identifier does not change and just says Not Contacted.

What is it that would trigger this to work?

You must have the Serial number in the list prior to enrollment.

@ComputerHabit, Thanks for posting in Q&A.

Based on my researching, it is consistent with what you find , corporate device identifier can differentiate between company and personal devices, allowing for optimized management and identification, while also setting device restrictions to prevent non-company-owned devices from enrolling.

Moreover, Corporate-owned devices identifiers with serial number only support below platforms:

    • iOS/iPadOS
    • macOS
    • Android device administrator, before Android v10
    • Android Enterprise personally-owned work profile, before Android 12

Hope this can be helpful. If there is anything else, feel free to contact me.
