Create a DWORD 32bit key named UILockdown (case sensitive) and set the value as 0 at "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Virus and threat protection" in the registry editor even if the location does not exist. You have to create the subfolders as well. After creating the key, Restart your computer and your Windows security should work now.

alternatively, you can run the".reg" file which can be downloaded here. TRY THE ABOVE METHOD FIRST.

Ensure that your Windows 11 is up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates can resolve such issues. Go to Settings > Windows Update and click "Check for updates."

    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    • Under "Additional troubleshooters," select "Windows Security," and run the troubleshooter.

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
    • Under "Apps & features," find and select "Microsoft Defender Antivirus."
    • Click on "Advanced options" and then select "Repair" or "Reset"

    • Press Windows + R to open Windows Run dialog.
    • Type gpedit.msc in the Run dialog and press Enter
    • Click Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Security > Virus and threat protection.
    • Double-click “Hide the Virus and threat protection area”. Make sure this setting is set as Not Configured.

Not sure if you were able to resolve this but chances are your UI Lockdown had been enabled.

go into your regedit > navigate to

Computer > HKey_Local_Machine > software > policies > Microsoft > Windows Defender > ux configuraiton > look for key called uilockdown and change to 0.

reopen your windows defender (ie windows security) window and should be there now.

Let me know if this helps
