Reproducible bug: user profile age is reported incorrectly

Hi Microsoft.

On server 2016 1607 (CU October 2020), the user profile age is reported incorrectly. The dates match the date of the last reboot and not the last profile usage.
This date is, as it seems, taken from the timestamp "last modified" of the file ntuser.dat inside each profile. That timestamp is always at the same value. So it seems that upon reboot, all ntuser.dat files are being modified automatically - why would that be?

I'll upload a screenshot:

This has certain implications which make it worth fixing: for example the GPO that cleans up outdated profiles no longer works.

Investigating this on my own showed that Windows 10 is also affected but not nearly as bad. Only a few (unused) profiles wore the time stamp of the last reboot - mostly the timestamps were correct.

I'd suggest starting a case here with product support.
    https://support.serviceshub.microsoft.com/supportforbusiness

While a credit card is required to open a case, charges for confirmed bugs are always free.

Yep, I have been there. Takes weeks and nothing useful ever happens. That's my experience of the last 3 cases.
It would be nice if server 2016 admins here could at least have a look at their servers to confirm this before sending me to MS support as well.

    Hi,

Please check below post and see if the powershell script provided by Joe Friedel can be a workaround for you.

Or, we suggest you could contact Microsoft Customer Support and Services where more in-depth investigation can be done so that you would get a more satisfying explanation and solution to this issue.

You may find phone number for your region accordingly from the link below:
