Same issue as https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/outlook-todo-synced-tasks-attachments-only-non/66bca736-f128-4d62-b193-79c8c57ad30f --> This one is closed, but never had a solution...

So created a new topic for same problem https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/outlook-todo-sync-attachment-in-task-is-shown-as/38646b7c-4a69-4e29-8c7b-27ca69b5fafa. --> Here someone told me to ask my question on learn.microsoft.com... So I'm here...

Scenario

My workflow is quite the same as in the above question:

  1. Move email to tasks with a quickstep ("create a task with attachment") --> Outlook task is correctly created with email as an attachment.
  2. This task is automatically synced to To Do

Problem

  • When I open the task in To Do, the email is converted to a link, but when I open the link it directs me to my inbox on Outlook.com and NOT to the attached email.
  • Flagging emails instead isn't an option, because To Do keeps showing the email subject, instead of the task subject (and most of the time I change the tasks subject after flagging)

Expected behaviour

  1. I would expect a little bit of consistent behaviour in To Do...
    • Flagged emails can be opened correctly from To Do in my Outlook client on my laptop. Why are attached emails in tasks opened in outlook.com??
    • Show task subject of flagged email as title in To Do instead of the email subject.
  2. I would expect attached files in Outlook Tasks to be shown as attached files in To Do

The described expected behaviours above would make flagged emails and tasks from Outlook work in the same way in To Do... Making it a lot easier for people to start using To Do...

Now the result is that I will keep using the tasklist in Outlook until something is changed...

Hi,You are right. This should be a vulnerability that has not been fixed. The integration of To Do and Outlook is not very perfect. I think it's necessary to submit feedback.

    Hi @SokiGuo-MSFT

I think you misunderstood my problem... The problem is NOT in Outlook Tasks... These work fine.

The problem is in To Do. When I open the same task in To Do, the attachment has become a URL instead of attached file ...

    User's image

And most of the time, the URL to a linked email isn't working.

    Hi @Stijn Beeckmans

Please understand that Outlook tags are mainly focused on Outlook desktop clients.

Based on your description, this seems to be the expected result.

In my test environment, the following phenomenon was rendered in Word file format:

By the way, this is Microsoft official feedback portal of Todo, where customers can send feature requests or suggestions to the product team.
