The Draw Mode on ZoomIt works flawlessly when I use my pentab on Mouse Mode but When I use my pentab on Windows Ink mode, I cannot see the pointer move in ZoomIt Draw mode as I move the pen freely over the tablet's surface.

In this short guide, i will explore steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue - Good luck!

Step 1: Verify Hardware and Software Compatibility

Before diving into troubleshooting, it's essential to ensure that your hardware and software are compatible.

Pen Tab Compatibility: Check if your pen tab is compatible with Windows Ink Mode. Visit the manufacturer's website or user manual for details.

ZoomIt Version: Ensure that you are using the latest version of ZoomIt. Outdated software can sometimes lead to compatibility issues.

Step 2: Configure Windows Ink Settings

Windows Ink Mode can sometimes interfere with third-party applications like ZoomIt. To configure Windows Ink settings:

    Open Pen and Touch Settings:

Press Windows + S, type "Pen and Touch," and select it from the search results.

Go to the "Pen Options" tab.

Disable "Use Windows Ink": Uncheck the box that says "Use Windows Ink." This may resolve the issue as it prevents Windows Ink from taking control of your pen.

Apply Changes: Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes.

    Step 3: ZoomIt Settings

Open ZoomIt and go to its settings.

In the "Options" tab, make sure "Mouse Mode" is selected instead of "Windows Ink Mode." This setting should enable smooth pen tab operation.

    Step 4: Update Graphics Drivers

Outdated graphics drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues with pen tabs. To update your graphics drivers:

    Open Device Manager:

Press Windows + X and select "Device Manager."

Expand the "Display adapters" section, right-click your graphics card, and select "Update driver."

Update Drivers: Follow the on-screen instructions to update your graphics drivers to the latest version.

    Step 5: Restart and Test

After making these adjustments, restart your computer and try using ZoomIt's Draw Mode with your pen tab in Windows Ink Mode again. Hopefully, the issue is resolved, and you can now smoothly annotate and highlight content.

    Step 6: Seek Additional Support

If the problem persists despite trying these steps, consider reaching out to ZoomIt's official support or forums. They may have additional insights or updates related to this issue.

    Conclusion:

By following my troubleshooting steps, you should maybe be able to mitigate the issue and continue using ZoomIt effectively for your presentations and screen sharing needs.
Always ensure that your software and drivers are up to date for the best compatibility and performance.

In order to solve this problem, it would be helpful if you could please provide more information about your problem. Here is another tool that can help.

The "Problem Steps Recorder (PSR)" is a powerful, built-in Windows tool that simplifies troubleshooting and problem documentation. With PSR, you can easily record a sequence of actions on your computer, complete with screenshots and annotations, making it a snap to document, report, and eventually resolve technical problems.

    Key Features:

Record Steps: PSR records every action you take on your computer, such as clicking, typing, or opening applications.

Screenshots: It automatically captures screenshots at each step, creating a visual record of your actions.

Annotations: You can add comments and annotations to highlight specific details within the recorded steps.

    How to Use PSR:

    • Launch PSR: Open the Run dialog by pressing Windows + R, type "psr," and hit Enter to start the Problem Steps Recorder.
    • Start Recording: Click the "Start Record" button in the PSR window.
    • Perform Actions: Reproduce the issue you want to document, and PSR will capture each step.
    • Add Comments: Optionally, add comments or annotations to explain particular actions.
    • Stop Recording: Click "Stop Record" when you've captured all necessary steps.
    • Save and Share: Save the recorded steps as a ZIP file. Inside the ZIP, you'll find an HTML file that can be shared with support or colleagues for troubleshooting.

PSR simplifies problem-solving by providing a clear, step-by-step record of computer actions and issues, helping you communicate and resolve technical problems more efficiently.
