Friday Outlook was working fine, I have been using the "edit message" feature for more than a decade. This morning it is prompting me to save the attachment to an outside storage location rather than saving it as updated in the message. I can't seem to reverse this or find a recent fix.

    Hi @Mason Chaffee

For our better research, please provide more information about this case:

Are all messages with attachments suddenly unable to save to the original location?

What is your Outlook client version? Please make sure that you upgrade the client to the latest version.

Can you provide detailed steps for editing your email? Please be careful to cover your personal privacy information.

Depending on your description, I did some testing and didn't reproduce your issue. I put the attachment in edit mode with the following steps, and then change the file, and the file can be saved in the original location:

    1. Double click the message to open it in its own windows.
    2. Place the message in Edit Mode.
    3. Open the attachments.
    4. Make the changes to the attachments.
    5. Save and close the attachment.
    6. Save and close the Outlook message. User's image

    Hope this helps!
