Is it possible to change the pricing tier for Azure API Management from the developer pricing tier to a higher tier with an SLA? I plan to start with the developer pricing tier and upgrade once I have a proof of concept. Can someone assist with instructions on how to switch pricing tiers from the Azure portal? Thank you in advance.

Hi Hunter B Thanks for reaching out. Yes, it is possible to change the pricing tier for Azure API Management from the developer pricing tier to a higher tier. Please note If you're scaling from or to the Developer tier, there will be downtime.

You can do this from the Azure portal by following these steps:

    1. Go to the Azure portal and select your API Management service instance.
    2. Select 'Pricing tier' from the left-hand menu.
    3. Select the pricing tier that you want to switch to (e.g. Basic, Standard, or Premium).
    4. Review the pricing details and select 'Select' to confirm the change.
    5. Wait for the pricing tier change to complete. The upgrade or scale process can take from 15 to 45 minutes to apply.

When you switch to a higher pricing tier, you will get additional features such as multi-region deployment and more advanced analytics and reporting capabilities. You will also get an SLA that guarantees a certain level of availability for your API Management instance.
