I keep getting recovery codes sent to my email. How do I know from what account someone is requesting this from?

I keep getting recovery codes to my private email and I do not know from what account, this has been going on for a year now and I think someone is trying to hack another one of my accounts but there's no information to what account these codes are linked to in the email. How can I find out?

    When you receive email from Microsoft, it will show you the email address or account that is asking for recovery. However, there is a possibility that this is phishing which try to persuade you to click on the link.

    If it contains any link , NEVER click on it and instead copy the link and check it with the following website:

    https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/url
