Emails are automatically deleted after sending. When I send something, it appears as sent items, but is then immediately deleted. The recipient sees the email, but it is immediately removed from the recipient's mailbox. The email is then nowhere to be found, even deleted, for both recipient and sender.

    Hi @Pascal Greven

Thanks for the question. I would certainly recommend you to follow the below steps to check if there are any of the below reasons are applicable to delete the emails

    • Email Retention Policies: Check if there are email retention policies or automatic deletion rules configured on your email server or email client. These policies may be set to automatically delete sent items or certain types of emails.
    • A rule or filter is deleting your emails. Check your email rules and filters to see if there is any rule that is set to delete emails after they are sent.
    • A third-party app is deleting your emails. Check your list of authorized apps to see if there is any app that has permission to delete emails.
    • A malware infection is deleting your emails. Scan your computer for malware to see if there is any malware infection that is causing your emails to be deleted. Review email server logs and auditing records to identify any suspicious or unauthorized activities related to email deletion.
    • Security and Access Controls: Ensure that security measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access to email accounts. This includes enforcing strong password policies and enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for email accounts.
    • Check Transport Rules: Transport rules on the email server can be configured to take specific actions on emails, including deleting or redirecting them. Ensure that no transport rules are causing unwanted deletion.

Please try out these steps and check if there any solution to it. Hope this answer helps you with solution! Please comment below if you need any assistance on the same. Happy to help!

My emails were being deleted immediately after being sent. I finally figured out why this was happening. On my iPhone mail app, I had somehow accidentally blocked myself as a contact. You can see it on your emails where there is a red circle with a line across the middle. This means that you've blocked yourself. Any time you email someone, this email will go to trash because it's from a blocked address. You need to unblock yourself in the mail app on your phone.
