Authenticator app not working

I am rather tech savy. I cannot get my authenticator app to work so that i can access my work email and teams app on my cell phone.

Yesterday, I needed to set a new password for my work email. I did so on my work computer then, I tried to use an app on my phone and was prompted to sign in on my phone. I did that with my new password and it directed me to the authenticator app. The authenticator app will show me a number to put in but then, within 1-2 seconds, it automatically changes over to a screen saying request denied. Never giving me a screen to input the number. I have probably tried this about 200 times since yesterday. every single time it denies the request. The only other option that i have tried is, one the screen with the number these is a highlighted line you can press that says "Cant use the authenticator app right now" i have tried a few times before it goes to the request denied screen to press that option and then it says i can get a code by call or text or a few other options but, whichever option i select it always says something like try again later or request not available.

I am very frustrated and work on the go alot so i need to be able to access my email and teams like i always have... from my cell phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sounds like you'll need the work admins to reset the account so a new QR code can be generated with which you can relink the authentication device to your account.
