Update available but not displaying in software center

Question

I am getting the following error in the scclient log:

The update 2020-10 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4580346) has no UI experience, it will not be displayed in the UI (Microsoft.SoftwareCenter.Client.Data.UtilityClass at IsSoftwareAvailable)

I can see the update download and available in wmi but it does not show up in software center. A lot of my clients are self service and we rely on them to select a window to install and reboot. I need to have this available in the UI so they can install.

Hi @Justin D ,

We could check if deployment settings under user visual experience that user notifications are set to display in software center and show all notifications.

If so, maybe it would appear randomly after a couple of hours. Similar post is shown this link:

Yes, I have the deployment set to show in in software center.

Hi..

Why don't you deploy the patch as required without a reboot? This way the patch will be installed without user intervention, you would only have to reboot when the deployment is complete.

Thank you for your response Rafael. I have done that with most of my deployments but I have a requirement from some business units to only make the update available. As a workaround I provided a script to initiate the install of the update via powershell wmi methods and restart.
