Unable to start AVD using automation & failed to connect AVD using Remote Desktop App

I've established two Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD) as part of the free trial plan. During testing, I successfully employed automation to initiate the shutdown process for the AVDs as outlined in the plan. However, I encountered a challenge when attempting to start them as scheduled, despite confirming proper access settings within the AVD role. What could be the issue?

Additionally, while I could successfully log in to the AVD using a web browser, I faced difficulties connecting via the Remote Desktop App. Specifically, when using the app, it repeatedly prompted me to enter my credentials without establishing a connection. What could be the issue?

    Hello Mian Lee Tan

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

Based on the issue description, you're having trouble starting your Azure Virtual Desktops and connecting via the Remote Desktop App.

Regarding the issue with starting your AVDs as scheduled, can you please provide more information about the automation process you used? Also, did you receive any error messages or notifications when attempting to start the AVDs?

As for the issue with connecting via the Remote Desktop App, there could be a few different things causing this problem. One possibility is that there is an issue with your credentials. Have you tried resetting your password to see if that resolves the issue? Another possibility is that there is a problem with the Remote Desktop App itself. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if that helps?

If neither of those solutions work, there may be a problem with the configuration of your AVD environment. In that case, I would recommend checking the Azure Virtual Desktop diagnostics feature to see if there are any issues that need to be addressed. You can also check out the troubleshooting section of the Azure Virtual Desktop documentation for more information on how to resolve issues (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/troubleshoot-set-up-overview)

    I hope this helps!
