So we are rolling out MFA using hello and interactive logons set to lock the workstation. So far I have rolled it out to about 15 assets, 4 of which dont work meaning when i pull the card it doesn't lock.

I have tried what i think is everything except wiping the box. I have checked the registry the settings are correct, gpudate /force, i have removed, restarted and tried again. When i run rsop and scroll through to the setting it says not configured.

Clearly its configured as i cant login inot the box w out the pin.

Also, age of the asset isnt the issue as we have 12 year pcs that work fine and brand new ones that dont

any info would be great.

    • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
    • Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Removable Storage Access.
    • Check the policies related to smart card removal, such as "Prevent write access to removable devices" and "All Removable Storage classes: Deny all access."
    • Make sure these policies are set correctly according to your needs.

Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error or event logs related to smart card removal. This can provide valuable information about what's causing the problem.

If possible, test the smart card on another computer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem is with the smart card or your specific computer.
