Windows 11 Drag and Drop Files to Folders Not Working

This is not the issue of dragging to the taskbar. For some reason, I just can't drag and drop my files between folders or other windows. My Windows 11 is fully updated, and I have no idea if there is anything running on my computer that would cause this. I have tried several things that I saw online to no avail.

If I restart my computer, it works for a few hours. Then, it suddenly stops again. I cannot figure out why. This is really impacting my job efficiency. Can anyone please help me figure out why this could be happening?

It's possible that some third-party software or background processes may be interfering with the drag-and-drop functionality. Try booting your computer in Safe Mode (which loads only essential drivers) and see if the issue persists. If it doesn't, it's likely that a third-party application is causing the problem.

Hi there. Play with your SynTPEnhService service. It solved my issue, which is pretty much similar to yours. Hope this helps.

Is this solved? This can be as well an hardware problem (or driver) for the mouse. Is it a laptop or desktop? sometimes the mouse secondary button gets stuck and we lose some of the functions. Try to change mouse or plugin again (you did mention after reboot it works for some time). good luck

I enabled it again under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System by setting EnableLUA back from "0" to "1" and then taskbar drag & drop started working. Microsoft forgot to fix this.
