Windows and Linux scale sets not sending logs to log analytics workspace

After deploying policy assignments to install Azure Monitoring agents on Linux and Windows scale sets using user managed assigned identity, then deploying further policies that associate scale sets with data collection rules, the logs are not being sent to log analytics workspace.

Did anyone come across the same issue?

Policies:

  • Configure Linux VMSS to run Azure Monitor Agent with user-assigned managed identity-based authentication
  • Configure Windows VMSS to run Azure Monitor Agent with user-assigned managed identity-based authentication
  • Configure Linux Machines to be associated with a Data Collection Rule or a Data Collection Endpoint
  • Configure Windows Machines to be associated with a Data Collection Rule or a Data Collection Endpoint

Both DCR policies cover scale sets.
