SQL SERVER UPGRADE

If have a sql server2017 standard license on machineA, now i want to upgrade to sql server 2022 on machineB.

Do i need to pay for the sql server2022 on the new machine?

Any idea? Thanks

    Licenses & product key are bound to the SQL Server version.

    So yes, for SQL Server 2022 you have to purchase new licenses.
