Migration Default Backup Policy to Enhanced Backup Policy (Roadmap?)

Dear Reader,

After some googling I found that it is not possible to switch already protected items from a default policy to an enhanced policy without stopping and deleting the backed up instance.

This is quite cumbersome.

After some more googling I stumbled upon the following quote:

  • It is true that you can't change/switch already protected Backup Items between Standard and Enhanced Policy without Stopping Protection deleting backup data for now. It's on our Dev Roadmap and from last chat I had with the PG, this seems to be something to come live till the end 2023.

Is this still something that will come live end 2023? It will massively simplify moving away from default policies to enhanced policies.
