Granting access with Graph API shared link does not create an item in OneDrive Access Requests

When using the Graph API to generate a shared link in OneDrive for Business, the request and invitation gets sent but no notification appears in Access Requests.
Using the old CSOM API to generate the shared link does create an entry. Is this by design or an issue with the Graph API? The Graph API documentation doesn't have any details on this.
