I deployed an IONOS server with Windows 2022 and SQL Server 2022 Web Edition. I need to also install SQL Server Reporting Services 2022 (SSRS) to run with SQL Server 2022 Web Edition.
When installing SSRS the options are either free ("Evaluation", "Developer" or "Express") which do not work with SQL Server Web Edition or a paid license.
I opted to install the licensed version and to use the product key of SQL Server 2022 Web edition installed on my server. Since there is no installation media on those ready-made images, I used EaseUS Key Finder to retrieve the product key. Unfortunately, this key is not accepted by the SSRS installation Wizard....
So, how can I successfully install SSRS 2022 on a server with SQL Server 2022 Web Edition?
SSRS is included in the SQL Server technology stack and you can install it with the same product key as you used for the SQL Server installation.

Yes you are right, it's included and it should work.... It works perfectly well with Express, Developer and Standard.... The issue is specific to the Web Edition: the product key is not readily available and the one I extract using 3rd party tool is not accepted... I did contact IONOS, they made a ticket. I'll be glad to share their reply on this thread if they resolve this... but several hours of interaction with them yesterday resulted in no viable solution...

So in the end it was an IONOS issue. The product key is not accessible to the customer, they had to remote and enter it. Once this was done it worked fine... Too bad it took 2 days!
