Event ID: 999

Task Category: None

Computer: DPM-Server

Description:

The description for Event ID 999 from source MSDPM cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

Has anyone gone through this and have any suggestions?

Hi,

The default location for the DPM error logs is similar to %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft System Center\DPM\DPM\Temp.

The error logs are named for the service they log, and the current log file for each service is named as <service>curr.errlog.

If the service has crashed, the system also creates a .crash file similar.

Review the crash logs to know what exactly was happening before that which caused the service to crash.
