Why is the recovery partition after C:

Why is the recovery partition after C: since version 2004 of Windows came? It´s the same in 20H2 with iso files downloaded from media creation tool. Pro version.
The latest version i tested it on was 20H2 19042.572

Earlier versions have it before C: wich makes it much easier to extend the disk on a virtual machine.

I do fresh installations more often than upgrades so the older way was better for me. The lower picture is from version 1909. 1803 had 500MB size wich had caused a second recovery partition. It would have been nice to have a 600MB partition for recovery first instead so we have some margin. Disks today is big enugh for that.

Another point, Right-click on the volume you want to extend (in your picture is C:\ Partition) and select “Extend Volume”. This will open up the Wizard screen for your extended volume and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
