Transferring files from Vista netbook to Windows 10 laptop

I am seeking a HUMAN BEING to walk me through setup of file sharing so I can move the files from my 2009 netbook to a 2021 laptop before the dearly beloved netbook dies. I haven't been able to find a single comprehensive (and relevant) "instruction manual" to do this move using WiFi. So far I've only been able to make the two "see" each other's names in Network. I get an error message when I ask the W10 to access the Vista (nothing happens trying the reverse, i.e., no error message and no file folders appear). Please help me find someone to talk to.
