Hi,
In our team we are using the Azure data factory for migration from on prem oracle to the azure sql database.
We are given only the reader access over the ADF (not the contributor access).
Question-Can i perform the data migration/ADF pipeline runs through the ADF reader access ?

Hi Kashish
With reader access you will not be able debug\trigger the pipeline. But only view results of trigger or debug run.
You would need contributor role in order to do the debug\trigger of pipeline in order to do the migration.

No, you cannot perform data migration or ADF pipeline runs through Azure Data Factory (ADF) reader access. ADF reader access only allows users to view and monitor data in ADF, not to create or manage resources or run pipelines.
To perform data migration or run ADF pipelines, you need to be assigned the appropriate roles in ADF. For example, to run pipelines, you need to be assigned the "Contributor" role it includes ability to create, read, update, and delete resources.

Yes you would need Contributor access to do any management activity, be it running a pipeline manually or from powershell script. We have already integrated ADF with the Azure devops.
And also already integrated the functionality of running the ADF pipeline through azure devops.
I had reader access over the subscription and i was able to successfully run the ADF pipeline through the Azure devops with the reader access over the subscription and no contributor access over ADF, please.
