How to check backup type in backup jobs on azure portal for MARS clients

How to check backup type in backup jobs on azure portal for MARS clients, we installed the MARS Agent for on premise users and defined retention policies but it doesn't show what type of backup will be used (Full, incremental or differential) and it is also not showing on azure portal in backup jobs. it is common that initial backup will be full backup but we want to know backup type.

When we restore the backup, it restores full backup plus all incremental backups based on chosen date automatically.

Azure Backup for MARS clients uses incremental backups by default. This means that after the initial full backup, only changes to the data are backed up. However, the backup type (full, incremental, or differential) is not explicitly shown in the Azure portal and in Microsoft Azure backup MMC console for MARS clients.

Note that when you restore a backup, Azure Backup automatically restores the full backup plus all incremental backups based on the chosen date. This ensures that the data is restored to the correct state.

Hello @Agha Ali Nawaz

Your observation is correct, azure backup for files/folders doesn't show the type of backup it is running or ran in azure portal. Technically, it should show in the backup jobs for the courtesy of the backup admin and their monitoring purpose. I propose that you submit a feature enhancement request to azure backup team at their feedback site below https://feedback.azure.com/d365community/forum/153aa817-0725-ec11-b6e6-000d3a4f0858

For the last comment, neither i see an option to view details on agent side to see backup type. User's image
