    Hello Parkins, GA, Mr,

The error code "exited with code -1073741819" is a frequent error message in ANSYS Maxwell and other ANSYS products and it indicates that the solver process has encountered a problem or crashed during the simulation.

since ANSYS Maxwell is not a product of Microsoft, I would recommend to also post your question in ANSYS dedicated forums, where the community would have a wider experience with the products and their troubleshooting.

First, I would recommend to check the log files in your ANSYS Maxwell project folders, with the extensions: .out, .log, .err These files would give you more information related to the operations carried during the crash.

Other than that, the initial troubleshooting should be:

    • Check for memory allocation size: In the ANSYS Maxwell GUI, go to the "Tools" menu, select "Options," and then navigate to the "Memory" settings. Adjust the memory allocation settings to better suit your system's capabilities.
    • Check for hardware or driver issues in your computer. Applications like MemTest or Driver Verifier can help you diagnose.
    • If you are running a large multi-core system, try reducing the number of assined cores, as parallel processing can cause this issues.
    • If you are using a virtual machine to run your simulation, it would be convenient to test in a native hardware, since some virtualization settings can interfere with the processing.
