I cannot delete a resource group, If I try to delete the resource group i get this error :

Failed to delete resource group TrainingRG: Deletion of resource group 'TrainingRG' failed as resources with identifiers 'Microsoft.RecoveryServices/vaults/vault-lmumr0x8' could not be deleted. The provisioning state of the resource group will be rolled back.

If I try to delete the vault (the only resource in this rg) I get this error:

Recovery Services Vault cannot be deleted as there are existing resources within the vault. : timtraining. Please ensure all containers have been unregistered from the vault and all private endpoints associated with the vault have been deleted, and retry operation.

    Hello @Tim Shurlock

You first need to disable "Soft Delete" from the Recovery Vault properties in this link:

Backup data in soft deleted state prior disabling this feature, will remain in soft deleted state. If you wish to permanently delete these immediately, then undelete and delete them again to get permanently deleted.

After that, you can follow these steps to delete the backup

    Hello @Tim Shurlock

A couple of places to check again, under recovery services vault, navigate to "Backup Infrastructure" blade from left pane and check under Backup Management Servers, Protected Servers, Storage Accounts. If there is anything registered you need to delete/unregister.
Also under backup policies, ensure there is nothing. If you have used other services like Azure Site Recovery on this vault, ensure you have removed all those replication items/configurations as well, if not you can ignore this step.

Lastly, if everything is deleted, the backup items blade on vault, should show zero items, not even anything on soft delete.
