I want to know the best way to structure information for ingesting into Azure AI

I am a knowledge manager working with a knowledge repository based on Azure AI. We are ingesting documents into the repository and we're interested in how we can optimise content for retrieval. Imagining structuring content as questions and answers, but there's nuance within this such as how to deal with bullet pointed/numbered answers. I'm hoping there might be best practice documentation to help with this?

how to optimise content within the document format to aid ingestion. In a perfect world, we'd like semantic search to work and to do this, we'd image we need to optimise content to enable this

An example would be a multiple point list. Does it make any difference if these are numbered or bullet points, whether they're all on the same line or on different lines
