Find a way to know how many billable characters will be used before synthesize?

Just like the title. I can find rules on how billable characters are counted in the documentation but no API in either SDK and/or REST API. Am I missing something? Since it is hard to implement the rules shown in the documentation and it is vague about how markup in SSML is counted as well.

romungi-MSFT 43,696 Reputation points Microsoft Employee2023-10-03T14:58:18.75+00:00 @thekingofcity The metric SynthesizedCharacters will provide the count of number of characters synthesized if you want to look up the characters that are synthesized through your API calls. You can view this metric from Azure portal from the metrics tab. The following dimensions are also provided with this metric for analysis.
ApiName, FeatureName, UsageChannel, Region
If you have to get an approximate count of the billable characters before your request is made, the speech studio provides a count of the characters based on text entered in the audio content creation screen.

2023-10-04T04:51:08.4733333+00:00 @thekingofcity Since the usage is determined based on the processing of the request the best way to bill is by using the metrics. The API does not provide a cost of a particular document as the billing is based on overall cumulative usage. Thanks!!
