Frequent crashes and BSoD only when on battery?

Hello

For the past 2 weeks, my laptop has regularly froze and received BSoD only when on battery. After checking the Event Viewer, I found out that the volmgr error (ID 162) followed by a Kernel-Power Critical (ID 41) were causing the BSoD. Therefore, I restarted Windows, kept it up to date, and adjusted the power settings in an attempt to fix the problem. As a result, the crashes were still there albeit less frequent.

I've also got into contact with an independent advisor at microsoft.com but he has gone radio silent since I sent him the minindump files via OneDrive.

I honestly don't know what do to at this point so i am going to leave this question here here with high hopes that someone will be able to help me with this.

As a reminder, this only happens when my laptop is running on battery. Otherwise, it's perfectly fine.

Kinds regards
Harry

To review volmgr error (ID 162):

Run a disk health check to ensure there are no physical issues with your storage devices. You can use built-in Windows tools like "chkdsk " or third-party disk utility software.

Use the "Check Disk" utility to scan and repair file system and disk errors. To do this:

    • Open a Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
    • Type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter.
    • Follow any prompts to schedule a disk check on the next restart.
    • Reboot your computer and let the check run.

To review Kernel-Power Critical (ID 41):

A "Kernel-Power Critical" error with ID 41 is a critical system error in Windows, indicating that the system unexpectedly rebooted or shut down without cleanly shutting down the operating system.

Overheating can cause your computer to shut down unexpectedly. Ensure that your CPU and GPU temperatures are within safe ranges.

Inspect and clean your computer's internal components, including fans and heat sinks, to ensure proper ventilation and cooling.

Ensure that your power supply unit (PSU) is providing adequate power to your system components. An insufficient or failing PSU can cause these types of issues. If required, replace power supply unit.
