I have been able to fix the above error.
To help others who might be facing this type of error, the below steps are the steps I used to fix the error:
- I cleared all the DNS records
- I checked to ensure the SYSVOL folder was intact
- I took a backup of the Domain policy and the Domain Controller Policy
- I opened the Command Prompt as an Administrator in the primary DC
- And I ran the command dcgpofix to restore the default policy.
