How can I regain access to my Word files (stored on a flash drive) that will no longer open?

    Unfortunately, flash drives may cause irreversible corruption of Word documents, if you are saving the documents to such drives. This conclusion is based on the collective experience of Word MVPs over the years.

    Note that moving a document to a flash drive, using File Explorer, will be safe.

    Have you tried copying documents from the flash drive to your hard drive? Maybe some of the documents can be opened after that.
