Windows 11 Home printer sharing problems

I am working with 2 seperate small networks with the same issues. They are running either windows 10 with no issues or Windows 11 home edition and unable to access shared printers. The printer installed and shared on the Win 10 communicate just fine. But if the printer is shared on either a Win 10 or Win 11 computer the win 11 computers cannot connect. They are visible on the network tab when you browse but when you select connect the error reads - printer cannot be found, check the name, IP and that it is turned on. Am able to access shared files without problems. I have all set to private network, file and print sharing turned on and password protection turned off.

I have done the following -

Run Troubleshooter

Attempted manual install with IP and PC name

Turned off firewall

Installed drivers on remote and also have run the installer

The newest host is a new Win 11 pc that was just setup this week.

What am I missing?

    Hello,

Since your Windows 10 computers can share and access the printer without issues, it's more likely that the problem is related to a configuration or compatibility issue with the specific Windows 11 Home edition computer. You may consider verifying the compatibility of the printer driver on the windows 11 computers. Additionally, any errors in the event log ?

    Regards,

    Karlie
