Excel - How to insert column TO THE RIGHT and row BELOW?

I notice all the ways to insert columns will place the new one to the left and all the way to insert rows will place the new one above. So if I have a sheet that doesn't have any blank columns or rows past the data, how do I create new columns or rows that will appear on the edge of the sheet, without having to move a column or row in from the edge, for efficiency's sake?

    Hi @Eric Nixon,

Apparently, we don't have an option like "insert a column/row to the right/below". As an alternative, to insert a new column to the right of existing columns in Excel, you can right-click on the column to the left of where you want the new column to appear and select "Insert". This will shift all columns to the right of the selected column to the right, creating a new blank column to the left of the selected column. Similarly, to insert a new row below existing rows, you can right-click on the row above where you want the new row to appear and select "Insert". This will shift all rows below the selected row down, creating a new blank row above the selected row.

If you really want this, I suggest request this feature by sending us feedback for our developers to be aware and consider this in the future developments.

Unfortunately, there is no feature as of now that would help you achieve that.

Old thread but the correct answer is to resize the table. Click on your table, Select Table Design, then Resize Table to add the additional columns or rows.
