Alert processing rule in different subscriptions

Hi all,

I am trying to implement Alert processing rule to suppress notifications of already existed alerts during specific maintenance period. I'd like to clarify some moments about it:

  1. I have several subscriptions. Management subscription where I put alerts for availability VMs and ARC checking. ARC and Azure VMs are placed in another subscription (let's call it Lab). Alerts work properly. When I create alert processing rule to suppress notifications of existed alerts during specific time period it doesn't me allow:
    a. to set Lab subscription as scope and save alert processing rule to Management subscription
    b. if I set scope Management + filter "alert rule name", I can save it in Management subscription, but it doesn't suppress notifications of rule that is placed in Managament subscription for resources in Lab subscription.
  2. Unfortunately, seems, schedule settings are not flexible and I cannot set recurring specific period (full last Sat and Sun of ech month) in portal. Does anybody solve this problem already? It would be great to see solution

Probably, I do something incorrect. Could anyone to give me any tips about it?

Thanks in advance,

Viktor

    Hey @Viktor Korokhov

You can suppress alerts at a given schedule, per Alert processing rules for Azure Monitor alerts - Azure Monitor | Microsoft Learn. But I've reached out to the product group and suppressing as the "last weekend of the month" isn't supported. You're confined the alert scheduling available in the Alert Scheduling.

    Regarding

    b. if I set scope Management + filter "alert rule name", I can save it in Management subscription, but it doesn't suppress notifications of rule that is placed in Managament subscription for resources in Lab subscription.

It would be helpful if you could provide a screenshot illustrating what you're doing. You can create an alert rule scoped to a subscription you have access to, but I'm not following what you're saying.

EDIT 16 Oct 2023 I've received word from the product group that cross subscription alert processing rules is currently not supported.
