A customer asked me:

Are the files converted into Base64 String format and stored in the database?

Can you give me some proofs to this point?

Which version of SharePoint are you using?

SharePoint Online stores files in their original format and does not convert them into Base64 string format.

The sharepoint version is sharepoint on-premises 2016. Is it can help to convert file into base64 format and save them in database? My customer require the document to prove it but i couldn't find out. Can you provide some sources?

Like SharePoint Online, SharePoint server 2016 does not have built-in functionality to convert files to Base64 format.

Sorry for late reply. My product is running on sharepoint on -premises 2016 and the database is Ms Sql server.

My customer didn't provide any information about the file type so can you show we which ones can convert or not?

Can you give me some sources about it?
