"The query string "siteURL" is missing or invalid" error when trying to delete a MS 365 Group on Sharepoint

Hello,

I created an MS 365 Group on SharePoint and I'm trying to delete it, but I keep getting the following error message:

Delete Error

There are no sub-folders in this Group, and I've already removed everything inside it. Please see the image below:

Main Folder & URL

I have searched several websites to find a solution but haven't found anything helpful yet. Unfortunately, I don't have admin privileges, so I cannot access the Admin area. I also don't have any experience using PowerShell or coding.

The site name in the URL is "MerrillSteelRFQ's2," but I changed the Group title to "Merrill Steel RFQ's2" after creating it. Could this be causing the error?

I have also changed the group from public to private and removed all co-workers from the list.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits end.

Thank you,

Sarah

Per my test, if I changed the group name, changed the group from public to private and removed all co-workers after creating the group, the same error occurred when I tried to delete the group.

As a workaround, you could go to Teams to delete the group. Here are steps:

1.Log in Teams with your Microsoft 365 account.

2.Teams -> Click the far-right hand edge of the Team name to display the options menu (...) -> Delete team.

3.The group and associated site will be automatically deleted.
