Custom Extraction Model | Train a new Model | Build Mode "Template" not available

Hi Team,

I am trying to detect if a document has 2 signatures on PDF. I am using a "Custom Extraction Model" and using "Draw Region" to draw the signature region and label it. However, when I click on Train model, I am not able to select "Build Mode" as "Template". (Image attached). The reason I need this enabled is as per documentation here , the signature detection will only work with Build mode Template and not neural.

Could anyone help here please?

Note: I have verified that both document in training model are of exact same structure.

@Avni Bhatt As per my experience with the studio and using FR, the loading of the dropdown should not be dependent on the documents that are used for training. If there is any inconsistency in the training documents as per guidelines set for a particular build mode, the trained model will behave inconsistently but the start of training should not be affected with any of the build modes that are selected.

I would suggest trying to load only the documents first before labeling and check if the train option loads both the build mode types, if it loads the Template build mode then some criteria in labeling is causing the Template build mode to not be available after labeling.

Also, is it possible to share the documents used for training along with the regions that needs to be labeled to check if this can be replicated? I tried with some of my documents with signature label but both the build options load for me irrespective of the document structure. Thanks!!

Thanks for looking into this. If I just load documents without labeling, "Train" button is disabled. Only when i add region (in this case I click on "Draw Region" and assign it to signature field, then it shows "Train" button enabled.

I have attached the sample document. I am wondering is this due to some licensing as I am trying things out on Free Tier. But I could not see any such details in documentation though.

FR does not charge for training a project, the calls made to the trained model are charged though in Free and Paid tier with limit on no. of requests you can pass. It seems like yours is a unique scenario that cannot be replicated. I have tried your document, and it seems to load both the types of training build modes on my free and paid tier resources.

I would suggest trying with a new resource with the latest API version and check if this issue is still seen.
