We were previously using face recognition until our access ended on June 30. We have since partnered with a Microsoft Partner and believed we would still have access. However, we continue to receive "blocked calls, response code 429" with each instance of using the API. What could be causing this issue?

Hello @Sharon Moore , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Existing customers have until June 30, 2023 to submit a registration form and be approved to continue using Limited Access services after June 30, 2023. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/cognitive-services-limited-access#what-happens-if-im-an-existing-customer-and-i-dont-register

I hope you have submitted the registration form.

Generally, the error message 429 is caused due to throttling problems. This can happen if you are making too many requests to the API within a short period of time (exceeding the rate limit).

I would suggest checking these metrics (rate limits) in the Azure portal under your face resource and try again. Please share more details if you still face issues.

You can also increase the TPS (transaction per second) limit by raising the support request: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/autoscale?tabs=portal

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Vasavi
