I cannot get Outlook to install on my Microsoft Office 365 account. I get this message: the connection to the outgoing (SMTP)server was dropped. Please check the outgoing SMTPserver settings and try again. I know nothing about technology so please help

    In order to better study this issue, please provide more details:

    What type of account are you configuring for POP/IMAP?

    Is the error message shown below?

    Depending on the error message, there may be a problem with the port settings when you configure your account. Please follow the instructions below to fix the problem:

    1. Verify that the outgoing (SMTP) server settings are accurate.
    2. Make sure your internet connection is reliable and operating as it should.
    3. Should you want assistance, get in touch with your email provider.
    4. Disable any firewall or antivirus software that might be obstructing the connection for the time being.
      Start Outlook and your computer again to check if the problem has been fixed.
