Hello, we have an Azure SQL serverless database which we have auto-pause enabled. However, the built-in LTR back up option is not available when auto-pause is enabled.
Given that our database doesn't need to be live 24/7, I think we still want the auto-pause feature. Is there any other Azure features that can do a LTR back up or a similar long term back up to blob?

Yeah, this is a big thing for us. I have a lower environment where I have an auditing requirement, and now I either need to turn off auto-pause (which would balloon our costs) or create some sort of "archive all tables in the DB to blob storage". Which is more effort but long term may be cheaper for us, since we'd compress it and stick it in Archive tier (not hot/cool/cold like the databases probably get charged for).
@Jack Wong Long-term retention (LTR) is not currently compatible with Azure SQL Database when utilizing the serverless configuration with automatic pause. What specific issue or objective are you attempting to address?

Same question here. The data in DB is critical, but usage of the database is maybe just 2 hours everyday. So if auto backup can compatible with auto pausing, we can save a lot of money.
Yeah, this is a big deal for us as well - we'll have to roll our own alternate backup. Probably ADF pipeline to save everything to Parquet once a week, stick it in Archive blob tier. This is, honestly, stupid.
