SharePointOnline - Where is the content of Quick Link webparts stored?

SharePoint Online doesn't make it clear where the content of the QuickLinks webpart resides... is there a hidden list? If we try to migrate a LinksList from onPrem, can it map to this webpart if there is no list? Not making much sense here...

Looks like there was a similar question asked in 2019, but was closed with a "non" answer of "there is no documentation"... has there been any progress in sharing where the data lives?

    Unfortunately, there is still no official documentation on this matter.

    According to the official documentation of quick links webpart, you can manually add a link to the migrated list online.
