Hi,
I have some additive questions regarding service accounts. We have in one case a lot of users or groups that are licensed as users on m365E5 and m365 f3 + addon when they login via SSO but when they access another account as a serviceaccount they access that service account via that logon after they have sso:ed. I am trying to find out if 1 or 2 licenses are needed to cover these scenarios. And if so another license can it be in the low m365 plans + additive p2 license on top of previous m365e5 for the ssouser that accessed/worked in the serviceaccount.

Which services are you trying to access? Service accounts need a license to use licensed Azure services but the sign-in access would be different from the data source access. 2023-10-18T08:20:38.5766667+00:00 The link refers to sales and support so not sure they can help. I need to understand if 2 licenses are needed or not depending on the access set up. Most will have a userlicense already assigned but then they will access the specific 600 service accounts and we need to understand if we need additional 600 licenses or not and if so what the licenserequirement is driven from. We know there are three types of service accounts so if that makes a difference we would need that clarified. "There are three types of service accounts native to Microsoft Entra ID: Managed identities, service principals, and user-based service accounts. Service accounts are a special type of account that is intended to represent a non-human entity such as an application, API, or other service."
